Redesigning Västerhuset’s Website

Overview
This project, done through a student consultant opportunity in collaboration with Drivhuset, focused on modernising Västerhuset’s website and bringing it more in line with the company’s brand and identity. The main goal was to improve both the look and usability of the website, making it easier for visitors to navigate and for employees to manage.
The process began with a usability evaluation of the existing site, where current issues were identified and analysed. To get a broader understanding, a competitor review was also conducted, comparing similar companies to gather insights into customer expectations and potential areas of improvement.
Based on the research, a new visual direction was developed. A moodboard was created to define the overall style, including colors, typography, and tone. From there, several screen design proposals were created in Figma, with multiple rounds of feedback and iteration. The final design focused on creating a modern, clean, and user-friendly experience while staying true to Västerhuset’s brand.
Once the design was approved, the implementation began in WordPress using Elementor. The work included building a new structure that made the site easier to navigate, improving SEO, and ensuring that the Västerhuset team could easily update content themselves in the future.
